UK-based company Moley Robotics has announced creation of the world's first robotic kitchen. The robot developer has featured an advanced, fully functional robot integrated with beautifully designed, professional kitchen capable of even cleaning the utensils. The prototype has been premiered in the International Robotics Show at Hanover Messe and attained widespread acclamations.
The consumer version of the prototype is set for launching in 2017 accompanied by iTunes' style library of recipes. The prototype is the product of 12 months of collaborative development works with Shadow Robotics, Yachtline, DYSEGNO, Sebastian Conran and Stanford University Professor Mark Cutkosky, according to a statement furnished in the official website of Moley Robotics.
The kitchen prototype is comprised of oven, stove, touch screen unit with robotics arms and hands. The hands with boasted tactile sensors, are capable of chopping, stirring, pouring, operating blender and other kitchen utensils, reports Ubergizmo.
The Moley Robotic Kitchen is revolutionary for more than its automated cooking. It is also an iTunes-style library with a growing collection of recipes from around the world. Initially, it starts with a plate of ingredients, eventually the system will be accessed anywhere remotely, with a delicious meal waiting at home.
3D recipe recording will open up an exciting new world for celebrity chefs and home cooks. Cooking professionals and owners will be able to present their creations to a huge new audience, with the potential to generate revenue through recipe sales globally.
BBC Master Chef title winner Tim Anderson has been reported to record his cooking skills for the prototype.The robot chef is capable of replaying every motion, nuance and flourish of the Master Chef through the robotic hands, according to Business Insider.
Sophisticated yet compact, the consumer version will feature the four key integrated kitchen items of robotic arms, oven and hob also touch screen unit. The kitchen will be operated by its touch screen or remotely via smart phone. When not in use, the robotic arms retract from view.
The Moley Robotic Kitchen has attracted significant attention from housing developers. The Robotic kitchen allows developers to differentiate their stock and maintaining premium stock for selling at a higher price. New buyers can also choose to incorporate the unit as an option in the specification stage.
