Donald Trump’s anti-migrant policy now gets backing from Austrian research

Donald Trump's anti-migrant policy has been further justified by a recent data in Austria. An inquiry by the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) reveals that the number of sex attacks conducted by migrants has increased by 133 percent over the last year.

The data reveals that 91 migrants have been investigated as rape suspects between January and September. The Interior Ministry report's number is 133 percent more than 2015 numbers. FPÖ is an anti-mass migration political party which discussed the data in the Austrian parliament.

The statistical analysis about rape suspects is critical because the recorded number of rape allegations has decreased in the country since 2015. The number of rape cases has gone down from 826 to 674. The number of suspects has gone down from 688 to 594.

While asylum seekers make a small percentage of the entire population of the country, the number of allegations against them is deeply alarming. Asylum seekers are accused of carrying out around one rape in every five recorded cases.

According to the report, a huge number of migrants who are rape suspects are of Afghani origin. The number of suspects from Afghanistan has increased from 16 to 47. Similarly, the number of rape suspects from Syrian refugees has increased from 3 to 11, according to Kronen Zeitung.

FPÖ deputy David Lasar asked the interior minister what steps have been taken to ensure the safety of Australian women from sexual assaults. Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka from the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) said the number of police officers had been increased in a number urban areas, Breitbart News reported.

Sobotka added that the number of plain clothes police officers has also been increased. He, however, believes the data is not enough to make policies on its basis. He refuses to consider it a scientific review as it is semi-annual or quarterly data.

America may like to note this update from Austria. Donald Trump has been trying to draw attention to the number of crimes committed by migrants in the United States. This may be time to have a scientific review on the issue.
