Apple rumored to be working on new 12-inch version of the iPad
Apple is reportedly thinking big with their next move, 12-inches big to be exact, as the next iPad will reportedly be coming in at that size.
It's not an exact 12 inches either, as the new iPad will reportedly be closer to around 12.9 inches in terms of its size, according to Engadget. The added inches are most likely going to lead to highly visible changes considering other versions of the tablet computer come in at 9.7 and 7.9 inches.
Nothing is set in stone as of yet in terms of what new features could be included in the larger version of the iPad, but there are rumors making the rounds concerning what those may ultimately be.
According to 9 to 5 Mac, the bigger iPad will reportedly be capable of allowing users to enjoy dual-app viewing mode. The split-screen was supposedly set to be included for the iPad Air, but plans to do so were nixed, when it became clear that the feature was not ready yet.
The new feature could even support more than just side-by-side app viewing, but that would likely depend on what apps are actually running.
Another new feature that may be included in the bigger iPad is support for multi-user logins. The new feature could certainly make the device more accommodating and convenient than it has ever been before.
With more screen space which could be made available, it also wouldn't be a big surprise to see Apple tweak their mobile OS ever so slightly to account for all the new space that has opened up.
The new features, and perhaps even the 12.9 inch iPad itself could likely be revealed at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, according to The Verge.
As for when the new iPad itself might be launched, a fall release could be in the cards, considering how Apple has chosen to unveil new iPads around this time in recent years.
