Google's Project Fi invites may take till middle of summer to arrive

Google's Project Fi has proven to be very popular, so popular that it may take Google up to middle of summer to process all requests for an invite due to the sheer number of requests they have received.

For those who may not be entirely familiar with Project Fi, it is the new wireless cellular service from the search engine giant. 

It is worth noting that some of the invites for Project Fi have already been released. Google began rolling out at the start of this month, but it has yet to reach everyone, according to The Verge.

For those who have not yet received the invitation, Google said they are working on a partial solution to that problem. As of now, Google has indicated that they are currently trying to figure out a way for the people who have already registered for Project Fi to receive updates regarding the status of their invites, according to Android Authority.

The status updates are expected to become available in the next couple of weeks.

Google's new mobile virtual network operator will be operating on top of the cellular networks from T-Mobile and Sprint, according to Tech Crunch.

Users will also need to have specific things on hand to be able to use Project Fi. For starters, users will need to have a Nexus 6 to be able to gain access to Google's Network. On top of that, users will also need to have the Project Fi sim card in order to connect to 4G LTE networks both inside and outside of the United States.

Plans for Project Fi start at $20 each month, granting the users unlimited talk and text capabilities together with Wi-Fi tethering. Users will also pay $10 for each GB they use.

Project Fi is also connected to Google Hangouts, giving users the opportunity to call any phone number on a Hangout-enabled tablet or smartphone, or laptop.
