Google has launched Google Photos which features unlimited photo and video back-up as well as other unique offerings. The new storage app is already available for downloading since Thursday.
PHOTO STORAGE APP
Google Photos, a storage app for photos as well as videos, was officially presented during the annual developer's conference on Thursday. In the said app, unlimited pictures of up to 16 megapixels can be kept for free without altering their resolution. Photos with higher resolutions will be compressed but users need not worry as the quality will not change. Videos on the other hand can be stored for up to 1080p but those with higher resolutions will be downsampled or reduced in quality.
Moreover, there will be a new search feature that automatically analyzes and tags uploaded images or clips. It also has editing tools the same way with Google +. Google Photos can now be downloaded through the App Store and Play Store. Google also plans to make it available to Mac desktops.
MORE FEATURES
Meanwhile, there is an alternative in storing photos with higher resolutions from smartphones or those from other devices like the DSLR or mirrorless camera. Users can choose from Google Photos a feature that lets them use 15GB of memory from their Google account. This selection does not limit the size or resolution of the picture.
Google Photos can also be shared either by sharing a link to one of Google's groups or by collecting pictures and getting a link in order to share them altogether. Compared to other photo applications, they offer cropping, color adjusting and other editing capabilities. Google Photos also can arrange images into groups depending on the subject, by smartly detecting its content.
The app surprisingly knows what pictures are important to the user, says a report.
Google Photos is available for downloading for Windows, iOs, Os X and Android's updated version of Photo App.
