Microsoft Lumia 940 XL specs leaked; Iris scanner added to phone's promising features

It has been since last year that the predecessor of the upcoming Microsoft flagship smartphone Lumia 940XL has been released. Now, while we all wait for the newest handset coming around, leaks about the phone's specs has been seen.  And all of us could surely say now, "Shut up and take my money."

The leaks were provided by a friendly website yesterday, and the excitement arose imminently as promising features were added. Everyone seems pretty confident now that they've seen what the phone will be like, though the leak provider is still unsure if the phone features will appear in its launching.

The Lumia 940XL is said to have a 5.7-inch QHD display (2560-1440), Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 20MP PureViewrear camera, 5MP front snapper, microSD slot and a slim, metallic unibody frame, and a Native Pen Support.

What's more exciting about this is that while it has the array of the most outstanding features, naturally competing with Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, LG G4 and Sony Xperia Z3+, the phone also has something new to offer.

The report also announces that the 940 XL will contain iris scanning technology, most probably for security reasons. More so, it also has a USB-C slot, allowing users to plug chargers in any way, similar to Apple's Lightning connector.

The phone is expected to launch alongside with Windows 10. While it has been a very long time ago since we've last seen competitive handsets under Microsoft software, it seems that the interval was enough and worth the wait.

Windows 10 is confirmed to launch on July 29, and there is a great chance that we will see the phone as well during that event.

On the other end, the website also said that Microsoft is working on some exclusive Windows 10 mobile features such as 3D user interaction and multi-windows support.
