Sony's new Android-powered 4k TV lineup, comprised of Sony X900C series and XC910 TVs, will be available starting July. The price for these wafer-thin televisions starts at $2,499 and up, depending on the TV's size.

The 55-inch X900C 4K Ultra HD TV is priced at $2,499, while the 65-inch counterpart is sold for $3,999 in Sony Store. The 75-inch XC910 model which is a bit thicker can be purchased for $5,499.

Specs and Features

All these three ultra-thin Sony Android Powered 4k TVs are powered by Android and X1 processor engine, which combines Triluminos displays and the X-Reality PRO Algorithm technology, to provide the best image quality both in HD and 4k content. The Sony Android TV will "improve the streaming quality of images that 4K content providers supply" by analyzing and boosting 4k resolution. So regardless of the image source, super clear and brilliant display can be assured.

The X900C models are Sony's thinnest televisions yet. At 0.2 inches thin, these TVs are thinner than Sony's smartphones. The bottom part of these TVs is slightly thicker to accommodate internal components and inputs. Its bezels are extremely thin as well, providing users with a virtually frameless TV and almost all pictures.

Aside from providing satisfactory display, Android TV also allows personalized user-experience and more convenient entertainment experience. With Android TV, favorite apps can be easily accessed such as Netflix, YouTube, NBA Game Time, CBS Sports, Crackle, to name a few. Android games and other content found at Google Play can also be accessed through these TVs. Favorite movies from Mac and Windows as well Android and iOS devices can also be synch with these TVs through HBO go and other entertainment apps.

PS users can also bring games directly into these TVs with PlayStation Now. For instance, PS3 users can stream games to the TV and play with DUALSHOCK 4 controller.

Sony's Android Powered 4k TV X900C series will be available this July, while the larger XC910 TVs will be released in summer. While Sony calls this new generation of televisions the ultra-thin it has created so far, some tech websites are tempted to call it the anti-curve.
