Polar, the American company known to provide fitness wearable trackers had just released Loop 2 at $119.95. The Loop 2 is a chic wristband that monitors calories, heartbeat, daily activities and sleep. It prompts users to meet desired fitness goals through smartphone notifications and informs them of the incoming calls, messages and events.
As an improved edition of the original Loop, the Loop 2 can now read your heartbeat when paired with the Polar H7 Bluetooth Smart heart rate sensor. Activity reports can be tracked when used with Polar Flow mobile app. What's more, the Loop 2 is waterproof.
Tarja Määttä, Polar's Segment Manager that the upgraded version is based largely on customer feedback.
"In developing the Polar Loop 2 we held on to the well-liked features such as design, waterproofness and support for heart rate-based training", she said.
Määttä emphasized that they listen to their customers' needs addressing some issues with regards to the previous versions.
"Smart notifications have been well-received in other Polar wearables, and now we will keep the Loop 2 users in the know as well", the segment manager added.
A report from Gad Fit says that Loop 2 calculates calories, every user's movement, exercise and sleep. It vibrates to notify the user if he's been idle for a long time.
Moreover, it is advised to wear the fitness band with Polar H7 Bluetooth Smart heart rate sensor to detect the heart rate accurately. Loop 2 is also designed for 24/7 use; the rechargeable battery can last up to 8 days.
And don't underestimate what this Loop 2 can do, aside from being a fitness manager, Loop 2 can also be a personal digital assistant reminding the user of his incoming calls, messages and scheduled events.
The Polar website detailed every step how calories will be calculated. But first, personal information must be indicated, including age, gender, weight and height. After that, you can select what type of activity you wanted the wearable to monitor via the Polar Flow service.
Loop 2 categorizes five types of activities such as resting, sitting, low, medium and high. This can be synchronized with iOS and Android devices through a Polar Flow app and Bluetooth connection.
Polar Loop 2 costs $119.95 for U.S. and Canada in two colors; Powder White and Sorbet Pink. The Smoky Black will arrive in September.
As with Polar's previous products like heart rate monitors (a wearable worn on the chest) and now with the Loop armband, certainly, Polar is the one that grants what most people needed to monitor their health in the most comfortable gear.
