Online video sharing, YouTube, announced that they hired MTV’s former president of programming, Susanne Daniels, as vice president to YouTube Originals. Basically, the target is to generate more original online programs on the website.
MTV President Stephen Friedman sent an internal memorandum announcing the departure of Susanne Daniels, President of Programming,purpotedly to pursue a new opportunity.
MTV is promoting Mina Lefevre, the former VP for ABC Family Development and Programming as an EVP and Head of Scripted Development, managing script development and programming. She will collaborate with Lauren Dolgen, the head of Reality Programming and EVP Series Development.
On the other hand, YouTube declared on Wednesday that Susanne Daniels will be appointed as the vice president for YouTube Originals Department. Daniels will lead and monitor the production and will report to Robert Kyncl, the head of Content and Business Operations.
Along with that, Alex Carloss, the head of YouTube Originals since it was launched four years ago will report to Daniels, noted on Rapid News Network.
Susanne has been a part of MTV as a president of programming for three years. She was married to Greg Daniels, the executive producer for The Office and Parks and Recreation. She’s known to develop Teen Wolf and Awkward. But before MTV, there’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Felicity to name a few from Warner Bros. She also reinvented Lifetime and had worked as a consultant at Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network.
YouTube believes in Daniels’ ability for relentlessly creating original popular hits. They are looking forward for more impressive projects by Daniels.
