Microsoft to reveal latest devices for Windows 10 ecosystem on Oct. 6 in New York City

Microsoft sent invitations for a press event on October 6 to be held in New York City. It is more likely that the software company will introduce new devices for Windows 10 ecosystem.

After its press launch in Germany, Microsoft is ready to unveil its newest set of devices. According to the reports, the event will start at 10 am ET. Lumia smartphones, Surface Pro 4 tablet and Microsoft Band 2 activity tracker will be highlighted on October 6.

"We're eager to share some exciting news about Windows 10 devices," a representative from Microsoft told Reuters.

The software company is silent in giving out details. But its latest operating system, the Windows 10, is designed to run across devices. Concurrently, when Microsoft acquired Nokia, PC Mag noted Satya Nadella does not want its products to be a standalone phone at all. Instead, he wants to create a Windows ecosystem.

On the lineup are Lumia smartphones; the 950 and 950 XL. Tech Radar leaked some of its features. The Lumia 950 is dubbed as the Talkman.  It has a Snapdragon 808 processor with a 3GB internal memory. The Talkman has a 32GB storage capacity and supports micro SD card. It has a wide 5.2-inch WQHD display. While the Lumia 950 XL, which they called Cityman, has almost the same features except for a wider 5.7-inch display.

Both phones are said to have Qi wireless charging and are capable of iris scanning to unlock.

Alongside, rumors say that the Surface Pro 4 has two sizes, the 12 and 14-inch variant. It may have a Skylake Core M chip. Other specs have not yet surfaced.

In line with that, Windows Central cited more devices to be revealed at the NYC event. That includes Wearable Band 2, HoloLens, Windows 10 on Xbox One and ProClear Speaker.

As tech enthusiasts see it, Microsoft might want to turn it too sharply. But as of now, it is too early to predict its outcome.
