Cracks at the Glass Suspension Bridge In China Cause Visitors to Panic

The hanging Glass Bridge at the Mountain of Yuntai in China is the newest attraction this year. Thinking it is exciting and thrilling to walk at the famed glass bridge, visitors will have to think twice. Last Monday, the thrilled-seekers had a terrifying experience at the site as it has crack formations. The glass walkway, suspended about 3,500 feet above the sea level is a new tourists location in China.

According to the USA Today, the longest glass bridge that is located at the Yuntai Mountain Scenic Park in Henan Province in China have crack forms. It is reported by the Yuntai Tourism Administration, a sharp object was dropped on the glass floor causing it to crack. The glass bridge has three thick layers of tempered glass and explained only the top layer has been fractured.

The Washington Post also reported, a woman shared her experience while at the site, she said, "When I was almost at the end of the bridge there was a sudden loud bang and a tremor beneath my feet," Upon learning about the cracks, the visitors began to panic and screaming, others started running to the ends of the bridge.

One social media user on Weibo posted a photo showing the fractured glass floor. According to CNN, the username, "lee dong hae shuo," wrote on his weibo account, "Just witnessed a historic moment, Yuntaishan's glass walkway is broken." He added, "As I was approaching the end of the passage, I heard a sudden loud 'bang. My legs were shaken. I looked down and saw the pane underneath me had shattered. Some people screamed. I yelled, 'It really cracked. It really cracked!' Then I ran pushing the people in front of me. I was terrified."

The staff of the scenic park released their official statement after the incident. They have found "a small amount of cracks" while doing their regular checks. The glass bridge will be close temporarily in order to change the fractured pane. The park's management still ensures their visitors that there is no danger in it.
