Finnair announces two new A350 Routes that will be flying from its Helsinki hub to Fukuoka, Japan, and Guangzhou, China beginning May 2016. The move was aimed at expanding the Finnish airline's North Asia network from 1.42 million yearly to a number that will double its flights by 2020.
With the strategy, Finnair will be the first European airline to receive 19 new Airbus A350 XWB until early next year. It is scheduled to receive the first four Airbus before the year ends, the next seven will be delivered between 2016 to 2017 while the remaining eight between 2018 to 2023.The airline is the first in the European region and the world's third nation to ever use the Airbus A350, according to ATW Online.
Aside from the two North Asia destinations, the extra wide body Airbus will be flying starting Oct.9 in Amsterdam and Oslo. Finnair A350 Routes will soon expand flights from Helsinki to Shanghai. The new Airbus will also cater to other Asian destinations including Beijing, Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong. With the goal to be recognized as the first European hub to cater short flights to and from North Asia.
"Finnair is the first European airline to receive the new Airbus A350 XWB (Extra Wide Body) aircraft that will substantially raise the bar for passenger comfort and environmental performance," according to Finnair website.
Finnair Airbus A350 will start its route to Shanghai, China from Oct.25, while flights to Beijing begins on Nov.1. On Dec. 4, A350 will be flying with A330 to provide daily flights to Bangkok, on Fe.1, 2016 in Hong Kong and beginning May 5, 2016 in Singapore, World Air News reports. With the new Airbus, A350 and A330, Finnair will be soon phasing out its A340 aircraft.
Airbus A350 is a state-of-the-art aircraft built with Zodiac Cirrus III wide and long full-flat bed seats in the business class. There will be Wi-Fi available and other in-flight entertainment services so passengers can get in touch with their loved ones while on flight. Business class meals will be served with high class wines. On the other hand, economy passengers can get advantage of its 11-inch touchscreens, comfort seats with more legrooms and sumptuous meals and drinks.
