Rules are meant to be followed. That's why Australia's Qantas Lounge's recent enforced dress codes must be followed to avoid being kicked out. However, it looks like it's a proof that no one will be exempt on their rules even celebrities. The Australian airport Lounge management ousted the Australian singer, Kate Ceberano for wearing something inappropriate on their dress code.
The Qantas Lounge have been enforcing their dress code rules 1st of April this year. According to the Northern Stars, they had forbidden wearing, shorts, Ugg boots, thongs, gym wears and vests on their Clubs and business lounges. The management has enforce a "smart casual" dress code.
"Smart, casual dress standards apply as a minimum at all times and entry may be refused if customers do not meet that standard. Bare feet or clothing with offensive images or slogans are not acceptable."
"In addition, individual lounges may have Club Rules regarding specific items of clothing which are not acceptable. Individual lounge managers will have discretion to administer these standards as they reasonably deem appropriate in the circumstances", according to the One Mile at a Time.
Australian singer, Kate Ceberano was ousted at the Qantas Lounge for wearing against the dress code, her footwear, flip-flops. The 48-year old singer has expressed her disappointment through her social media, Facebook. She wrote, "Disappointed to be evicted from the Qantas Lounge after being a member since 1990 for wearing 'inappropriate footwear'? hahaha (new rules),"
A Qantas representative explains, "We completely understand that being declined at the door isn't a great experience, so this is a good opportunity to remind those wanting to use our capital city lounges of the dress code that applies."
The Australian airport lounge had been receiving backlash on social media since the release of their impose dress codes. However, the Qantas Lounge says, their guidelines are for the purpose to create an environment that their customers can enjoy.
