Twitter's new ad tools unveiled
Twitter is joining YouTube in the social media advertising revolution by providing advertisers with a better tools for companies to measure its advertisement. The latest announcement was made via company's official blog on October 15th.
Reuters reported that Twitter Inc will also provide advertisers with a custom data-driven reports to help them to create a better campaign. The reports are known as the conversion lift reports will help advertisers to measure their ads lead specifically.
According to TechCrunch, the data includes the number of users visiting the website or signups, mobile apps installed and the data will also be beneficial for business focusing on switching mobile carriers.
Besides that, Twitter said that the new ads tools are more efficient as the new tools will divide an advertiser's audience into two main groups. The first group will calculate the number of users that see the ads and another one that does not see the ads. By doing so, advertisers will be able to know which audience to target for their next campaign.
Adweek reported that based on Twitter experiment, the company found out that users who see promoted tweet have a higher chance to interact and visit the brand's website. Based on the number of users visiting the website, the brand has 3.2 percent of chances that the visitors will convert into customers.
Besides providing data, the new tools will also see Twitter providing advertisers with its own suggestion to improve clicks or sales.
The latest move by twitter is expected to attract more advertisers and brings more profit to the social media platform too. Twitter said in its blog post that the reason behind the changes is because "Understanding the incremental contribution of the clicks and views on your ad campaign is critical particularly when you're running mobile or cross-device campaigns. Last-click attribution is an inaccurate reflection of what's driving results because the average customer switches between multiple devices, platforms and sites before making a purchase."
Twitter has been recording a declining in its monthly ads revenue and it is hoping that this move will be able to reverse the process. The company had previously announced that it will lay off more than 300 employees soon as a strategic plan to ensure company's survival.
The move is similar announced by YouTube on early September after lots of advertisers are complaining that the data obtained regarding their advertisement is insufficient. The problem had caused YouTube to lose a huge amount of profit for ads as lots of big companies are getting less interested in using the platform for advertisement.
