Misfit launched Shine 2: Smarter and thinner fitness and sleep tracker

Misfit has launched its new version of fitness and sleep tracker device, Shine 2. The Misfit's new generation tracker offers thinner profile compared to its brother, Shine. The Shine 2 will solve a several issues of its predecessor.

Misfit's director of mechanical design Adam Mack, said in a statement, as noted on Mashable, that Misfit has packed a lot into Shine 2, added more functionality into an even smaller form factor with the same battery life. He added that the company didn't compromise on craftsmanship or the user experience.

Android Police noted Shine 2 as the best and recommended activity tracker and platform. It is said that the device is the best solution for health tracking especially for those who prefer something that is not too involved, too complicated, or too demanding on this purpose.

For its performance as fitness and sleep tracker, Shine 2 has 3-axis accelerometer and newly added 3-axis magnetometer that will track activity and sleep more accurately.

You can easily see progress and time on the device with its 12 vivid LED, each displaying over 16 million potential colors. It also can show text and call notification with multi-color animation. It also offers silent vibe alarm for the notification, that can be functional as a wake-up alarm.

As reported on Misfit's blog, one of the new features that you can find in Shine 2 is Misfit Move. The feature provides a vibrational nudge that encourage you to stay active throughout the day.

Shine 2 can also integrate with other devices. It has Misfit Link app that allows you to link it to your smartphones, tabs, or other smart devices so you can play music or take a selfie simply by tapping Shine 2. The syncing process will be faster with enhanced Bluetooth 4.1 in this device.

The activity tracker Shine 2 is also able to interact with various internet services and smart home devices to turn on/off the light and other smart home devices IFTTT or Logitech's Harmony Home Hub.

For the design, Shine 2 offers an aircraft grade aluminum body for lighter, thinner and elegant design.  It has a modular design so you can mix it with a sports band, clasp or action clip.

Shine 2 has a long life battery that lasts up to six months. The battery is replaceable, you won't have to recharge this device.

Just as its predecessor, the Shine 2 also water resistant up to 50 meters. It comes in two unique colors, carbon black and rose gold.

The device is available for online purchase on Misfit.com and priced at $99.99. It will be available in stores in November.
