Along with the growing involvement of Russia in Syrian crisis, waves of Russian airplane constantly barrages islamic militant in Syria. With the presence of Russian warplane in Syria, an encounter with U.S warplane is inevitable. Therefore, U.S. Air Force top commanders have issued a warning to their pilots to stay put of Russian military planes flying in Syria.

According to CNN, U.S. pilots have been told to proceed with the standard aviation safety procedures while waiting for technical agreement to be reached between U.S. and Russia, regarding how both air forces will fly safely and maintain contact when come near each other. The agreement was hoped to be completed on Tuesday.

Russian aircraft have been launching airstrikes to Islamic States militant stronghold since the end of September, thus providing support for Syrian government offense in central and northwestern regions. Vladimir Putin, Russian president openly showed his support of Syrian current president, Bashar al-Assad. However, Russian involvement in the Syrian conflict does not align with Washington policy that aimed to topple down Assad through establishing a program to train and equip a selected group of rebels.

However, U.S. training program that has been conducted since 2011 have failed to produce an army of Syrian freedom fighter to fight against Assad regime. In fact, some analysts have predicted that Obama administration conducted a serious miscalculation and mistakes in Syrian policy at the first place. Such mistakes has led to the rising of Islamic State (ISIS) that become threat on a global scale.

Amidst failure and quavering effort of Obama administration in their Middle East policy, Russian suddenly came following Assad request request to help Syria in fighting growing islamic militant in Syria. Since September 30, Russian military campaign in Syria have started delivering pinpoint strikes at facilities of the Islamic State terrorist organization, and hit hundreds of terrorist facilities according to TASS report. Russian Aifr Force in Syrian airspace is strengthened by over 50 aircraft and helicopters, including fighter jet Sukhoi Su-24M and Su-25SM "Frogfoot," along with the latest fighter-bomber Sukhoi Su-34.

Following his bold move, Putin gained a positive result in Russia.  His approval rating in Russia reached nearly 90 percent according to nationwide poll published yesterday as reported by NBC. In Thursday coverage, NBC also reported that Putin highest approval rating was largely thanks to his military moves in Syria.

Vladimir Putin has long been opposed to American and western position to Syrian conflict. Russia has been a major arm supplier for Syria. When the Syrian civil war erupted in 2011, Russia continuously showed support to Bashar al-Assad.
