Ride sharing app Lyft has conquered Las Vegas as the car service is now available at the McCarran Airport. Hail as the first ride sharing car service to establish at the said new location, Lyft has snatched the first-based spot from their competitor, Uber.
According to CNET, the San Francisco-based ride company announced its achievement on Monday after a month of clearing process from the regulatory issues. And finally came to a decision that the two ride services, Lyft and Uber are authorized to operate their service in Las Vegas.
Lyft app representative has expressed their appreciation told, "We're proud to be the first ridesharing partner of McCarran International Airport. Lyft's launch in Vegas was one of our biggest yet, and collaborating with key stakeholders like LAS is an important part of continuing to grow the Lyft Las Vegas community. We want to thank the Clark County Commission and staff, LAS Executive Director Vassiliadis and airport staff for embracing the benefits Lyft brings to travelers.", the Tech Crunch reported.
According to Engadget, their rival company, Uber has not yet started their operation as of now as the company is still working with airport permit. However, the Nevada-based Uber General Manager, Jason Radisson said, "Uber is dedicated to serving riders and drivers at McCarran, and to continuing a thorough process with Airport Officials. Our priority is to reach a resolution that ensures rider and driver safety along with the best user experience, as quickly as possible."
Last month of September, the transportation authorities in Nevada had given Lyft and Uber a permission to operate their businesses in the city of Las Vegas, only as a alternative car service on taxis. And just last week, the Clark County Commission has permitted the two companies to apply for temporary airport licenses that enable them to do their service directly to the airport terminal
