Tahiti Tourism to Launch Smart Tourism Approach with Tahiti Innovation Labs and Travel Startups Incubator

The Tahiti Innovation Labs and the Travel Startups Incubator is teaming up to introduce the Tahiti Smart Tourism initiative. The French Polynesia Ministry of Tourism made an announcement for the new tourism project. The goal is to make the French Polynesian Islands as a smart tourism destination.

According to Skift, the partnership of the two is for the long-term project to achieve their goal including, to expand WIFI access free areas beyond resorts, increase more tourists visitors with innovative digitalizing the guest experience and also outgrow job opportunities for locals and boost economy.

The Tahiti Tourisme is promoting the French Polynesia with its main island, Tahiti and its primary tourism islands, Moorea and Bora Bora and other small islands as a significant decreasing number of visitors with 260,000 arrivals to 180,000 became alarming. And it is the Tahiti Smart Tourism projects have wanted to change and boost tourism in the islands again.

Also one of the Tahiti Smart Tourism initiatives is to launch full tech integration to the island. The Travel Startups Incubator will introduce new technology and the Tahiti Innovation Labs will also cooperate to promote and campaign their new services with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, according to the Travel Start Ups.

The CEO of the Tahiti Innovation Labs, Thierry Lehartel said, "This partnership will position French Polynesia at the sharp end of tech and travel innovation. Imagine arriving at the island and effortlessly having everything you need to know at your fingertips. It would make traveling easier and more enjoyable to know that your needs are taken care of.

Lehartel also added, "We aim to provide visitors with a frictionless connection with the island, with complete access to tourism and leisure services at all times. The initiative will vastly improve the tourism sector and our visitors' quality of experience."

The Managing partner of the Travel Startups Incubator, Matt Zito said the Smart Tourism Tahiti initiative will also help many Tahitian youths of today to find more career opportunities in the tourism industry.
