Cadillac launches again its XT5 Luxury SUV, this time in a Dubai public school fashion show

General Motors unveiled its new Luxury 2017 XT5 SUV again. After flying over the Hudson River in New York a few months ago, the car manufacturer launched its latest SUV again in a public school fashion show in Dubai.

According to Bloomberg Business, Cadillac's Public School 2016 Pre-Fall Collection at the Dubai Design District is the first time that people could actually have a feel of the XT5, making it the car's real debut. The move is a great publicity stunt that the company needs to achieve its plan of selling lots of XT5 SUVs in the Middle East.

MENAFN reported that d3 chief operating officer Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi commented on the launch saying, "Being chosen as the global venue to launch an international motor brand for the first time in the Middle East, combined with the debut of Public Schools Fall collection, is a very proud moment for d3. This synergy of design and technology is the epitome of our district and another step in our journey to becoming an international design destination."

The new 2017 XT5 SUV uses new weight saving tricks, like high-strength steels, that let the front wheel drive lose up to 278 lb, according to Automobile. This is a 165 lb drop compared to the SRX AWD. The weight loss is very important, since the new XT5 is smaller than the SRX. It is smaller than SRX by 0.8 inches in length, 0.2 inches by width, and 0.3 inches by height. On a wheelbase, however, the XT5 is longer than SRX's by two inches. This provides more interior room. The legroom in the rear-seat is 3.2 inches more spacious than SRX's.

The new six-cyliner SUV is important since it is the new crossover series XT brand of the car manufacturer. It is an integral part of Cadillac's plan to expand to foreign markets. Cadillac's sales increased by 16.9 percent worldwide in October, while the sales in the Middle East rose to 15.3 percent month-over-month. The total sales of the car manufacturer globally were up 4.5 percent so far in 2015.
