Taylor Swift’s World Concert Documentary Launch on Apple Music Exclusively on 20th December, 2015
Taylor Swift is completely in a gift giving mood this Christmas with the latest launch of her 1989 World Tour Documentary on the Apple Music. On the occasion of Swift's 26th birthday, she announced that the release is scheduled on December 20, 2015, on her Twitter platform.
According to The Verge report, the documentary is directed by Jonas Akerlund, the On the Run Tour: Beyoncé and Jay Z director. The film features performances from the likes of Selena Gomez, John Legend, Fetty Wap, and other artists not (yet) in Swift's squad. With Swift's documentary launch during the festive season, the company can powerfully enhance its subscriber base in the mid of Christmas and New Year's holiday.
According to the 9to5Mac news, this documentary is filmed in front of 76,000 fans during her stop at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Nov. 28. It will show the entire performance and never-before-seen footage from backstage and from rehearsals with some of the musical and surprise guests. The World Tour 1989 started back in May and ended yesterday.
This interesting launch will also help Apple Music to offer a completely unique range that is not available on any other streaming services. The presence of Spotify and launch of the YouTube Music has spurred the activities on this platform.
Taylor Swift is all set to launching her 1989 world tour documentary within the next 7days solely on Apple's streaming platform. It is possible that others will follow and Apple will get exclusive rights to more records of content.
While it represents a small sliver of potential revenue for the company, Apple Music can potentially make Apple's platforms all that much stickier and keep people locked in Apple's ecosystem, reported in the Tech Crunch news.
It was said that Swift had some issue over Apple not paying the artist royalties during the 3 month trial period. Eventually over the time, both the Singer and Apple have decided to bury the hatchet. The core of the problem is not Swift's annoyance for not getting a royalty for the trial period of 3- months.
The independent musicians try to make a living out of this and thus, it may be a cause of anger for such musicians. Taylor Swift has such a huge fan following, she was able to change Apple's policy and now, the artist will receive royalties even during the trial period. It was tweeted by the Apple SVP Eddie Cue that Apple's policy will be changed.
