Burger King’s 5 for $4 deal to beat competition
With an objective of taking on McDonald's in the global fast food space, the US-based Burger King has launched a new deal of five for $4. Burger King's deal comes close on the heels of new offers announced by McDonald's and Pizza Hut. The fast food chain majors are offering combo menu resulting in savings for consumers.
Established in 1954, the Burger King has emerged as the second largest brand in the global fast food hamburger chain. Burger King has started off year 2016 with new deal offering customers a bacon cheese burger, small French fries, four-piece chicken nuggets, a small drink and a chocolate chip cookie.
Yahoo Finance reports that the war in the global fast food space started blowing up in early days of 2016. McDonald's has launched McPick 2 for $2. McPick 2 is loaded with a Mc Chicken, a Mc Double, small fries or mozzarella sticks. Pizza Hut has also rolled out $5 Flavor Menu, under which consumers can order two of the seven items for $5 each.
The latest offers from fast food chains are offering value menu for consumers. Burger King's 5 for $4. Wendy's 4 for $4 includes a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, fries and a drink. Pizza Hut's 2 for $10 menu includes two items for the price of $5. Items range from four Pepsi brand beverage to one pizza. McDonald's menu charges $1 each for its items.
Fast food restaurants are now bringing back value menus. Towards this, Burger King's new value meal deal 80¢ each is aimed at attracting more consumers, as reported by CONSUMERIST. Franchisees are not in favor of dollar menus. The Burger King franchisees earlier sued the company for selling double cheeseburgers for $1.
McDonald's two years back reduced its dollar menu by replacing it with the Dollar Menu and More. However, this new menu didn't get encouraging response from consumers. Subsequently, the Dollar Menu was withdrawn.
Burger King during the last quarter of 2015 launched A.1 Hallowween WHOPPER sanchwich. A black bun that gives A1 flavor baked in, according to Burger King. Taking inspiration from the success of Black Burger in Japan, the A1 product has been launched in the US market.
Single items priced at $1 were not profitable for franchisees or McDonald's. The combination deals such as 5 for $4 from Burger King and Mc Pick 2 from Mc Donald's allow some profitable items for the fast food chains. The high profit margin items such as soft drinks will add further to the menus.
Wendy's and Burger King's campaigning programs have been successful during the past year. The latest offer of Five for $4 is expected to add strength to Burger King.
