According to the United Nations chief, Donald Trump is no different from Islamic State.

The comparison comes from Prince Zeid bin Ra'ad Zeid al-Hussein. The Jordanian aristocrat is presently the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. He called Donald Trump and Nigel Farage as "populists and demagogues." According to Prince Zeid, their success shows "fascist rhetoric."

He accused populism of being responsible for the rise of hate crimes around the world. He also added that there was the "banalization of bigotry" in Europe. According to the Jordanian diplomat, it has been a disastrous year for human rights all over the world.

"If the growing erosion of the carefully constructed system of human rights and rule of law continues to gather momentum, ultimately everyone will suffer," Zeid said.

He talked about anti-foreigner rhetoric inciting hatred in Europe and the United States. He compared Trump with terrorist organizations like ISIS in terms of his style of communication. He indicated that, just like ISIS, Trump too uses oversimplification and half-truths. The mode of propaganda taken up by populists and ISIS is similar, he said.

Prince Zeid, however, did not equate the actions of ISIS with the nationalists. He used terms like "monstrous" and "sickening" while describing ISIS. The extremist organization must be brought to justice, he added.

Breitbart News noted that the Jordanian prince slammed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, French Front National leader Marine Le Pen and Dutch nationalist Geert Wilders.

Wilders recently came up with a manifesto just before the Dutch elections. He wants to stop asylum seekers from entering the country. He especially wants to ban Muslim immigrants from entering the Netherlands. According to The Telegraph, he suggests closing Islamic schools and mosques. He wants to outlaw the Quran as well.

Zeid strongly hit back at Wilders for his suggestions. He called the Dutch politician a bully and refused to be fooled by "the deceiver."
