YotaPhone 2 arrives in North America via Indiegogo campaign
While YotaPhone 2 is a phone that doesn't seem like the conventional best-seller, especially in North America, it appears the phone's unique qualities are proving to be quite the selling points.
Courtesy of an ingenious Indiegogo campaign, the YotaPhone 2 is now not just some unknown Russian device that has no chance of being a mainstream hit, it may even be the opposite.
The phone is generating tons of hype mainly because of its unique E-Ink screen found at its back. This part of the screen is yet another touchscreen, but it never turns off. The E-Ink screen allows users to check messages and apps without ever having to activate the LED screen.
Even though it seems like the additional E-Ink screen would seem like a drain on the phone's battery life, it's quite the opposite, since users can basically use the YotaPhone 2 without issue, and without ever needing to activate the more power-hungry LED screen.
People are getting very excited about the prospect of getting their hands on this new device, and even though the Indiegogo campaign was supposed to bring the YotaPhone 2 to North American shores back in April, the hype has not died down despite the delay, according to Phone Arena.
The YotaPhone 2 is now available via Indiegogo.
Customers who signed up early on to get the new phone will receive some bonuses and goodies for their diligent patronage. They will get a $100 discount on the original retail price, thus dropping the price down to $500, plus a three-month subscription to BookMate as well as a special edition bumper case, according to PC Mag.
On top of bonuses, people who buy the YotaPhone 2 via Indiegogo will be granted the opportunity to purchase Yota Wireless Power Bank for the reasonable sum of $50.
The YotaPhone 2 was initially made available only in select European countries, but very soon, the phone will be widely seen around North America.
The Indiegogo campaign originally sought to raise $50,000 to make the phone available in North America. It managed to raise over $60,000 in support of the phone just three hours after the campaign started, and the figure is expected to climb even more..
