Belgian Billionaire Shukhrat Ibragimov Puts Private Jet on Market for $46m
Shukhrat Ibragimov, the chairman of mining giant Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), has put his Dassault Falcon 8X up for sale for $46 million.
The luxury aircraft, which previously had the registration code 00-FAI, has seats for 14 passengers and a crew of three.
Shukhrat Ibragimov's Falcon 8X was originally registered on 25 April 2018 and logged a total flight time of 2,505 hours and 932 landings. It was deregistered from the Belgian aviation register on 14 June 2024 when it was put up for sale. Controller.com, the aircraft broker website, lists OO-FAI as currently for sale for $46 million.
Shukhrat is the son of one of ERG's founders, Alijan Ibragimov, who died in 2021. Ibragimov inherited his father's fortune and became the chairman of ERG in June 2024.
Shukhrat has also developed his own business interests, acquiring a stake in Borealis Foods Inc., a failing ramen noodle manufacturer. Ibragimov is a director of Nasdaq-listed Borealis and injected $23 million into the venture alongside fellow investor Kenes Rakishev.
Shukhrat has also acquired a luxury hotel in Sardinia called Forte Village Resort, which is estimated to be worth more than €700 million. He acquired the property in an apparent asset swap with sanctioned Russian oligarch Musa Bazhaev, which the Financial Times said had raised concerns about potential sanctions evasion.
Ibragimov's Falcon 8X private jet was owned via an Anguilla-based company called Infield Limited. The aircraft was operated by Flying Services, a business aviation charter company based at Antwerp Airport, which is near the palatial mansion his family owns at Avenue de la Tendrai 28, Braine-l'Alleud in Belgium. The property covers an area of 31,792 square metres.
Shukhrat's Falcon 8X was not available for public tracking, but according to Jet Photos, it was last seen at Almaty Airport in Kazakhstan on 10 February 2024. According to Planespotters, it was seen in Istanbul on 10 December 2023. In 2023, it was seen in Almaty on the 15th and 21st of May. It was also seen in Bishkek-Manas on 0 February 2023, in Almaty on 11 February 2023, and in Tashkent Yuzhny on 17 January 2023. It was also spotted in Almaty several times in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
With OO-FAI up for sale, Shukhrat Ibragimov appears to have swapped to another Falcon 8X operated by Flying Services. He was named on a passenger manifest for flight FYG423 from Nur-Sultan Airport (Astana) to Istanbul on 22 June 2024. The flight was carried out on a Falcon 8X with the registration OO-SBO.
