Instagram wants its users back; e-mails "Highlights"

Instagram, the mobile photo/video sharing that became a worldwide favorite app for allowing users to share photos (only it is in a square form) and record a 15-second video. This social networking service can be linked with some social media platforms like Facebook, Tumblr, Flickr and Twitter. Unlike Facebook where you add people and be 'friends', you only get to follow users on Instagram and see their posts on your feed.

Facebook, Instagram's parent company has already been sending e-mails for years notifying its users about what a particular user selected to be notified about. Now, Instagram is doing the same thing, only with its subject "Highlights."

Instagram e-mails photos of people being followed by a certain user. Like Twitter which sends e-mails of people you missed tweeting, Instagram also sends recent photos that you have "missed." Instagram is doing this to get engaged again with its users.

Instagram has just begun its e-mail sending to its users, so not all can receive it by this time. In its e-mail though, you can click the button above and "unsubscribe" to it, but what's confusing is it will not redirect you to a certain site or e-mail. Also, there is no re-subscribe menu.

Are Instagram users drifting away already? Maybe. It has been a long four years and various kinds of social media network apps are popping out from time to time.

Also, Instagram's feed is unfiltered, so if you follow a person who shares photos every minute of the day, it drowns the posts of your real friends making it hard for you to scroll down and check what's up with your buddies. And this might be just one of the reasons for Instagram users to walk out.

Though there are lapses on Instagram's activity, their new "Explore" button will let you see photos of people connected to you or to the people you are following. It's quite entertaining while spending time online.
