Wind and solar-powered Eco Capsules will allow owners to live off the grid, no matter where they are
The new Eco Capsule is set to give its owners the ability to finally be able to completely live off the grid no matter where in the world they might be.
The Eco Capsule comes from Nice Architects, an architectural studio currently calling Bratislava, Slovakia its home.
On the surface, the Eco Capsule looks rather unusual, featuring what can only be termed as an egg-shaped silhouette complete with what appears to be some windows placed on its surface, but its humble appearance belies the variety of features it possesses.
Each individual Eco Capsule comes with its very own solar panels, and a retractable wind turbine to keep it powered up, according to Bored Panda. It also comes equipped with its own rainwater collector, which its owners can possibly re-purpose into something more useful if they choose to do so.
As for the facilities of the Eco Capsule, prospective buyers can expect it to have its own kitchen, a bathroom complete with a composting toilet and shower, and also running water, according to Industry Tap. The living facilities enable its owner to live comfortably enough for long stretches of time while also being self-sufficient. Given its name, the self-sufficient and energy conserving properties of the Eco Capsule stand as some of its best selling points.
The Eco Capsule itself is not especially large, measuring it at 14.6 feet long, 7.9 feet wide, and also 8.2 feet tall. It does not have a lot of room to move around, but there is enough to be more than comfortable.
For those who are already sold out on the Eco Capsule idea, they will still have to wait a bit longer before they can get their hands on it, according to Engadget.
No price has even been announced for the Eco Capsule as of yet, but more details about it are expected to be unveiled at the Pioneers festival in Vienna. People will then be given the chance to pre-order the Eco Capsule by the end of 2015.
