Chinese Version of Google Glass Named 'Cool Glass One' Smartglasses Showcased in CES Asia; Costs $330 To $500
For tech geeks who cannot afford the mind-blowing price tag of Google's smart glasses, the Beijing Palo Alto Tech company offers almost the same Google glass experience for a cheaper price as it releases its very own smart glasses, the Cool Glass One.
Google released its futuristic smart glasses called the Google Glass back in 2013. The company has made the product available to a limited number of applicants first before rolling it out to an extensive range of consumers. However, a lot of interested people were taken aback when faced with its very expensive price tag of $1500.
It is for this reason that a lot of them did not pursue the purchase of said device. If price is the problem, a cheaper alternative has just been introduced recently. Chinese company Beijing Palo Alto Tech just revealed its very own version of Google Glass in the Consumer Electronics Show Asia.
Cool Glass One features a touch pad on each side which enables users to navigate the interface, the same way Google Glass is designed. Aside from that, Cool Glass One offers an easy-to-use camera capable of taking photos and videos of up to 1080p (1920 x1080) resolution.
The device also allows a projection of an image in front of the user's eyes without blocking his or her vision. Also, the smart glasses can be connected to any Android-powered device.
Most of this product's feature is similar to that of Google's seminal version. In fact, Cool Glass One's founder admitted that the concept of its smart glasses was indeed inspired from the giant's device.
Ther most noticeable difference Cool Glass One has from its inspiration is its very cheap price, which ranges between $330 and $500. Cool Glass One will be offered in different colors and is set to be released in August. Though the company has not confirmed if the product will also be sold in physical stores, it is expected to be available for purchase online.
