Coolpad Arise: First WiFi Only Smartphone offered by Scratch Wireless; Consumers will no longer pay for Mobile Data Plans
Scratch Wireless, a mobile startup company, introduces its very own Wi-Fi only smartphone called the Coolpad Arise. Consumers will never have to pay for any mobile data plans again with this smartphone.
Almost all of the mobile companies are competing in the smartphone market through releasing different types of smartphones with a lot of extravagant features. When it comes to these smartphones, a Wi-Fi ready feature is not new anymore but one mobile phone company took advantage of this simple component making it the highlight of its newest smartphone product.
Founded in 2011, Scratch Wireless is a revolutionary startup company which is the very first to offer a Wi-Fi only smartphone named the Coolpad Arise. Unlike any mobile brands, the company's newest device offers a unique way for its customers to save money on their mobile data plan. In order to do this, Coolpad features a free data transfer as long as there is a wireless open network.
Scratch Wireless collaborated with Coolpad, a Chinese smartphone company, to make its Wi-Fi only product possible. Coolpad Arise features a 4-inch touchscreen display with a 2-megapixel camera that runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat.
With its very basic features, the smartphone will surely not beat the other brands but the only thing which makes it distinct and gives it a chance in the market is its promise to the customer to never pay for any mobile data plans again.
It might sound very risky for Scratch to deal with situations when a wireless open network is not available which is why it has teamed up with Sprint. Its partnership with Sprint will allow its customers to purchase passes which enable them to connect to the company's nationwide network.
These buyable passes can come in voice or data with certain price rates. Voice passes which provide 24 hours of unlimited cellular access can be bought for as low as $1.99 while similar data passes cost the same price but offers 50Mbs which is good for 24 hours as well. The passes Sprint will be selling also come in a 30-day package just in case the smartphone user will be without Wi-Fi for a while.
Scratch Wireless' new product seems to give its customers discernment between owning an extravagant and high-tech smartphone or a thrifty mobile plan. However, those who would rather choose to be practical in their budget will surely consider Scratch's Coolpad Arise.
