Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Tab S2 within June. Specs and features include 2048 x 1536 AMOLED screen resolution, Exynos 5433 CPU, 3 GB of RAM, and others. The device was spotted having Intel Atom chips. But this led others to ask, "Why Intel Atom?"

A Samsung device, claimed as the Galaxy Tab S2, reportedly paid a visit at Geekbench 3, which was seen running a 64-bit build of Android 5.1. But it was the processor of the alleged Tab S2 that became a point of interest to some as it was revealed having an Intel Atom chip. It is uncertain if it was "actually the Galaxy Tab S2" because the naming used in database could be different, still the tablet is "supposed to be powered by an unspecified 64-bit processor." Hence, others are somewhat convinced that it could be the device.

It is expected that the upcoming Galaxy Tab S2 offers a 64% improvement in 3D Mark 1.2 Unlimited than its predecessor, the Tab S. But experts reportedly said that the score is "suspiciously low as the S2 should be able to perform even better with this processor," which others say that there might be "something wrong" with the calculations.

Further, as mentioned, what became a point of interest is why Samsung decided not to sport the Tab S2 with Qualcomm chips. Qualcomm's chips are said to be better in performance than Intel Atom processors, which are said to be "more attractive" for a powerful tablet.

Master Herald says, "The answer could be the price, as it's been rumored that Intel have very attractive pricing structure for their processors, and this has apparently drawn the attention of Samsung for this production round."

Although making the Galaxy Tab S2 to sport an Intel Atom processor might affect performance, but it seems to be not that big and is also said to be not a "bad option," especially on the pricing.

Further, rumors about the Intel processor are believed to likely turn out as true.
