To help explore Asia's top destinations and activities that suit to every traveler's interest, Klook has closed a $1.5 seed investment round.

Hong Kong travel start-up Klook has recently secured a US$1.5 million seed investment round, which included Tencent's e-commerce chief funding.

Wu Xiaoguang, Tencent's senior vice president and chief executive, lead the financing of Klook. The newly launched service offers discounts, up to 50 percent, on hand picked tours and destinations

Klook (short term for 'Keep Looking) is a Hong Kong-based service that helps tourists discover interesting activities in Asia. It was launched in September 2014. It has a staff of 20, claimed it has attracted over 200,000 since the launch.

Klook's dedicated mobile app is available for android and iOS. Anyone can use the app that book activities at 21 locations in both English and Chinese.  

Klook app can book amazing travel experiences online and on mobile. It provides comprehensive details about interesting activities and gives suggestions based on the traveler's interests. Another, it allows users to choose package tours, find insider deals and make payments securely.

Although the curated travel activities service is not something unusual, Klook's move is also directed to the fact that China's tourism is booming, and they want to leverage the "market opportunity." According to a report, the number of outbound Chinese travelers hit 109 million in 2014 and is expected to hit 200 million by 2020. Around 40 percent of its users are from greater China, 40 percent from South East Asia and 20 percent from Europe, Australia and the United States.

And now that it has mobile apps, Klook said that its customers can browse activities and make bookings after they arrive at their departure. Unlike any other app, Klook does not include cover hotel or flight bookings. Instead, they focused on the things that travelers can spend in different nations of Asia.
