Sam Liang, a Google's previous location server lead architect, introduced an Application Program Interface to provide developers for mobile applications a means to specifically monitor the location of its users.

Liang, now a CEO and founder of Alohar Mobile dispatched the mobile app Place Us a year ago. It tracks the location of family members and friends in definite time.
