Ex-Google architect unveils new tracking API for mobile app: Smarter stalking app for global users on the way?
Sam Liang, a Google's previous location server lead architect, introduced an Application Program Interface to provide developers for mobile applications a means to specifically monitor the location of its users.
Liang, now a CEO and founder of Alohar Mobile dispatched the mobile app Place Us a year ago. It tracks the location of family members and friends in definite time. The app's location tracking goes in the backdrop and works ahead of the main ISP and GPS of users' mobile phones to regulate the current location, area's temperature, atmospheric pressure, ambience, movement, Wi-Fi data and brightness to compute and come up with the users most exact location.
We built that in order to eat our own dog food; to understand how the technology works and how well it can help other people," says Liang.
They are preparing the API as a component of Place Us and all other apps. The launch is a subsequent tread headed for generating the future breed of mobile applications; ambient discovery wherein apps from your smart phones will simply assimilate your vicinity using sensors like GPS, accelerometer and compass that can be piped into any app to make it more agile.
Alohar Mobile's aim is to keep connected with the people in your circle. But first, you must authorize the app to keep an eye on you as it studies your routines so it can send updates to your family.
It's also about assembling relative data in relation to its worldwide consumers. What the former Google employee grasped from Place Us is that we tag along a particular trail each day. Sometimes we go to certain places like our favorite hangouts, our workplace, and stores to buy stuff on our way home. In some instances, our possible normal schedule may consist of fewer activities like attending meetings from time to time or a pleasure trip quarterly. The API can utilize such information mounted up past those times to identify everything about its users.
The further you gorge your phone with Alohar's tools in the background, the more it discovers and gathers information about you, thus improving its forecast of your recent activity.
For mobile app developers, this component is a technique to construct a more convenient modified involvement for users.
