Motorola has been working out the software update for the Moto X 2013 in the U.S., Brazil, and Canada. Though, if you have a carrier variant of the Moto X 2013, you may have to wait further as the current Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the device is only for the unlocked retail variant. If you are residing in Canada and Rogers with a carrier variant of the Moto X 2013, you will get the Android 5.1 Lollipop update as well. "I am pleased to announce that we have started full deployment of the 5.1 Android Lollipop upgrade for Moto X (1st Gen) for US Retail, Brazil Retail and Rogers in Canada," confirmed Motorola's Senior Director of Software Product Management David Schuster in Google Plus.
Almost a week ago, Schuster had revealed that if they succeed in Moto X 2013 soak tests, surely the smartphone would be having the Android 5.1 Lollipop update in the America and Brazil in the near future. "We have addressed an issue we found in a previous soak test and should start full soak testing in the US and Brazil for retail later this week. If all goes well, full deployment can happen the following week," said Schuster in a report from Droid Life.
