Apple Extends iCloud Service Subscription For 30 Days Free To Greek Customers Due To Monetary Crisis
Apple is now compromising a free 30-day extension for paying iCloud subscribers in Greece without added cost. This is Apple's way to avoid downgrading and intermission of services to its Greek customers who are presently not capable of paying monthly fees due to control procedures proposed in the country.
Reported on Buzz Feed, several Apple users in Greece are going through a disruption of service as the regulation on the monetary surge began to clutch the country. As a result from restrictions presented by the government, Greeks will not be able to rely on their credit cards in dealing payments in foreign countries. Moreover, some iCloud account holders with subscription-based bundles got error messages as others that had paid over Appstore were rejected.
Last week, Apple had emailed Greek iCloud account holders advising them that their iCloud storage services would be reduced to the average 5GB if scheduled fees were not allotted.
Correspondingly, the company has arranged a countermeasure straight away; a follow-up email stated on Mac Rumors is asserting that the iCloud Team is giving iCloud users a 30-day extension without additional charges after an account's regular renewal date, "To prevent interruption in your iCloud service during the current fiscal crisis, and to make sure you have access to your content, we've extended your iCloud storage plan for an extra 30 days at no additional cost. We won't attempt to charge you for your plan until 30 days after your original renewal date. If we are unable to renew your plan, you may need to reduce the amount of iCloud storage you use."
One reaction on the forum of Apple Insider considers the free iCloud Service as Apple's generous move, "30 days is a reasonable time to deal with their data. It's not as if a flash drive or hard drive is out of reach. Anyone that was likely to pay for an iphone probably has a drive around the house or a personal computer."
Be that as it may, this is just an isolated agreement as the email reminds users might need to relegate their iCloud storage if the service will not be renewed.
