Nike+ Running app partners with Spotify in the new update

Music for jogging will become more exciting as Nike updated its Nike+Running app to bring the song streaming service from within. The update will include Pace Stations, which are playlists based on the music preferences and the pace goal.

The updated Nike+Running app is so unique and efficient that it calculates the target beat per minute before coming up with 100 songs for the playlist. If you match your strides with the beat of the music, you will reach the pace goal you want. This is the first of its kind as there are no other apps that lets you reach the pace you want by simply stepping with the beat.

Pace Station is only available for iOS.

This collaboration allows Nike to access 30 million songs from Spotify. The updated app will help runners push themselves a little more, and reach new heights for their running activities.

However, only Spotify premium subscribers can avail of this feature.

The collaboration is very beneficial for runners, for Nike, and of course for Spotify, which is currently combating the presence of Apple Music.

Spotify cofounder Daniel Ek said this isn't just a simple beat stretching app, because the composition itself magically rearrange to fit your pace.

This will definitely bring running and music listening to a whole new dimension. There are other companies who are already in this market, such as Songza, which was acquired by Google.

Spring Moves is another app that pairs the runner's speed with the right tempo of music in the playlist.

Besides Nike, Adidas has also tapped Spotify to provide a music app for runners. The Adidas running app gives the runner a playlist with songs based on the stride rate.
