Accenture enhances parental benefits for US and Canadian parents
Accenture announced that the company is improving their parental benefits for those in the US and Canada as part of their commitment to employees to provide them with the best career opportunities during all stages in their lives.
The enhanced parental benefits include giving both men and women the chance to work locally after the birth or adoption of their child. The new program also doubles the time Accenture provides for dependent care for children.
From 40 hours, Accenture will now provide their employees with 80 hours per year of dependent care assistance. In addition, Accenture also offers another 40 hours of dependent care assistance during a child's first year.
Accenture will also be responsible for shipping breast milk for employees who will go on business trips. Furthermore, hospital grade breast pumps will be available for new moms in the US.
On top of that, Accenture will also provide their US employees with online educational resources under a personalized portal. They also offer customized support for childhood concerns like ADHD and developmental and learning disabilities.
The expanded benefits program will provide their employees the opportunity to care for their families while still establishing their careers. The new program is also beneficial for employees who go frequently go on business trips.
Group chief executive, Julie Sweet, says that it is one of their goals to establish a workplace where their employees can succeed both in their occupational and personal lives and at the same time acknowledge the varying needs in the different stages in their lives.
Chief human resources officer, Ellyn Shook, said that because Accenture is a professional services company, their employees are all they have and they recognize that allowing their employees to help them determine what's good for them are vital in developing changes that are important to their most important asset - their human resources.
