Commerce Sciences lands $4M to make website personalization for small-to-mid-sized businesses easier

Commerce Sciences announced Thursday that it raised $4 million investment funds to provide a more convenient site personalization service for small-to-mid-sized businesses.

The Palo Alto-based company even got support from Google executive Eric Schmidt's fund. The sites CEO and cofounder Aviv Revach said they are the Robin Hood of website personalization, making website personalization and A/B testing more convenient and affordable for the smaller players in the online world.

Website personalization has been proven to increase engagement and conversion. Smaller websites should improve trust and social proof since people tend to buy from people they trust. This is the service that Commerce Sciences offers.

Commerce Sciences engage directly with the consumer to provide the best online costumer experience by reducing psychological concerns and increasing motivation, leading to better on-site experience and conversion. Its technology uses behavioural science methods, combined with machine-learning algorithms they got from data-set of 50 million consumers.

The company also launched a new self-service version of its website personalization app, with plenty of behavioural attitudes that could help define visitors. Some 70 to 94 percent of marketers experienced significant improvements in their key site performances indicators, including sales, by using website personalization.

Forty percent of these businesses had a 10 percent increase and above in converting visitors into buyers. 13 percent of those businesses even experienced a 50 percent increase.

Commerce Sciences lets its clients set up marketing for certain types of visitors through a one-click ability. The site becomes conveniently editable for its users. It also includes pre-implemented campaigns, such as upsell coupons, email addresses, and rescuing of abandoned shopping carts.

It allows the users to automatically set up its site for specific groups of users, who are defined using 40 different behavior indicators. Its monthly rate is $300. It will increase based on the volume of traffic. With this rate, it is clear that Commerce Sciences is targeting the lower end of the market.

They can be truly considered as Robin Hood of small online enterprises.
