All-New Kia Sportage is bold, progressive - a cutting edge

The new 2016 Kia Sportage SUV is "bold" with a progressive style that lets it stay out in the leading edge of the industry.

Kia is determined to stay in front of everyone else when it comes to progressive style with its unveiling of the new Sportage. The sports utility vehicle will be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.

The all new Sportage has a revolutionary design led by chief designer Peter Schreyer. It may still somehow look like the Sportage before it, but its front-end design has drastic changes. It has a "tiger-nose" look, which is common among new Kias where the headlights are moved out of the same plane.

Another word to describe the new Kia Sportage is "bold." It will take on competitors like Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, and Mazda CX-5. It has a tall and distinctive front end. It has the image of the Provo hybrid hatchback design from 2013's Geneva Motor Show. Its high-set headlights look like the Jeep Cherokee.

It has a reserved rear design with a rugged look due to its taillight design and aluminium splitter. Its side design has a Hyundai Tucson look. Sportage's bold design is something to be praised since these kinds of concepts are harder to come by these days. Most automakers are playing it safe to attract buyers. Kia is taking some risk with its style.

There are previous spy shots showing the new Sportage could have a utilitarian design. Just like the bigger Carnival and the Sorento SUV. It has a big center display right above three rows of various dials and switches. It steering wheel is sporty and flat-bottomed.

Kia's Frankfurt design studio leads the design for the all-new Sportage. Besides the European team, the Irvine, Korea, and California team also provided input for the car's design. The Frankfurt Motor Show will start on September 15. It will have two press days and two trade days. It will be shown to the public on September 19 to 27.
