Amazon's New $50 Fire Tablets Now Available At Pre Order For $250 Per Six Packs
It was rumoured that Amazon's new 7-inch Fire tablets would be as cheap as $49.99. Now, Amazon announced Tuesday that it will launch the new Fire-brand products, which they will sell at $250 per six-pack. It is available at pre order, and shipping will start on September 30.
According to Engadget, the products' low price doesn't mean it looks cheap and performs inefficiently. It actually looks better than the sub-$100 tablets. The cheap Fire tablets come with an IPS display, wide viewing angle, and rich contrast level. It is powered by a 1 1.3GHz quad core processor, 8GB storage, and 1GB of RAM. It also has a microSD card that can give the user up to 128GB extra space. It is reportedly not only cheap, it looks good, and is very efficient as well.
Mashable writes that unlike Apple, which is producing tablets more inclined to productivity, Amazon's new fire tablets are pushing towards entertainment. These Fire tablets are not something users bring to the office; these are devices that should be used in the couch.
These new tablets have Amazon's new Underground app, allowing users to gain free access to paid games, as well as in-app purchases, with app support. One of the key selling points of the new tablets is the Prime subscription that allows users to access Amazon's library of streaming TV, Music, and Movies.
Gizmodo reported about the new Fire tablet's durability, saying it could also take a beating. It has a metal backplane in its glossy plastic, and its screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. Amazon even showed Gizmodo how its Fire HD 10 survived 200 cycles of tumble tester conducted by the company. The device came out with only a few bruises.
This bundle points at a future of devices, which will be efficient, cheap, and convenient for home usage.
