The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has funded 33 key development projects worth AED 23 billion in Bahrain and the two nations have maintained a strong partnership, showcasing their close cooperation and shared focus on sustainable development.

ADFD projects, which span important sectors like housing, energy, transportation, and health, helped Bahrain address its financial needs and support its fiscal balance program for 2023 and 2024, contributing to the country's economic growth, WAM reported.

On Bahrain's National Day, celebrated on Dec. 16 each year, ADFD Director General Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi highlighted the strong partnership between ADFD and Bahrain, which has played a key role in advancing development across various sectors.

He noted that ADFD's significant financial support and expertise in managing projects have enabled Bahrain to implement large-scale initiatives that have transformed the country.

ADFD has supported several key projects in Bahrain that have significantly contributed to the country's development. The Salman City Housing Project has provided affordable homes for many families, helping to meet vital housing sector needs.

The East Sitra Development Project has increased Bahrain's land area, creating space for new residential and commercial developments. The Sheikh Zayed Road Expansion has improved transportation by enhancing connectivity and reducing traffic congestion, boosting economic activity.

The partnership between ADFD and Bahrain is a strong example of regional collaboration, showing how shared knowledge, resources, and expertise can drive sustainable development and achieve impressive outcomes.

The long-standing partnership between ADFD and Bahrain highlights the strength of cooperation and a shared commitment to progress.

Through investments in key infrastructure, support for sustainable development, and efforts to enhance the well-being of Bahrain's citizens, ADFD has established itself as a reliable partner and a driving force for positive change.

Since 1974, ADFD has supported Bahrain's economic growth and social progress through various initiatives.

Last month, it was reported that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Bahrain are reportedly working together to implement a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that focuses on strengthening cooperation in industrial development.
