Ajman, Ireland Discuss Boosting Economic Ties, Investment Opportunities
Ajman Chamber's Director General Salem Al Suwaidi met Irish Ambassador to the UAE Alison Milton to discuss strengthening partnerships and economic cooperation, focusing on boosting regional trade and exploring investment opportunities.
Both discussed opportunities in areas like education, health, tourism, agriculture, information technology, and food, WAM reported.
Al Suwaidi emphasized the strong diplomatic ties between the UAE and Ireland, adding that the meeting was a part of Ajman Chamber's ongoing efforts to create partnerships and promote international cooperation to support economic growth in Ajman.
To mark the occasion, Al Suwaidi and Milton exchanged trophies and souvenirs, symbolizing the growing partnership between Ajman and Ireland.
The meeting was attended by the Acting Executive Director of the Studies and Investment Development Sector Khalid Al Shamsi, Acting Director of the Investment and Business Promotion Department Aisha Al Nuaimi, Deputy Head of Mission at the Irish Embassy John Ford and other officials from the Irish Embassy.
During the meeting, Al Suwaidi briefed the Irish Embassy delegation on Ajman's key sectors, with a special focus on education. He highlighted the strong support the education sector receives from Ajman's leadership and the development of modern educational infrastructure.
This aligns with Ajman's vision to build skilled human capital that supports the emirate's goals and enhances its appeal as a livable destination. Al Suwaidi also discussed potential collaboration between Ajman and Ireland in education and introduced the Ajman International Education and Training Exhibition (AETEX).
He invited Ireland to participate in the 2025 edition of the event. Furthermore, the delegation learned about Ajman's progress in healthcare. This included efforts to improve medical services, expand healthcare and medical tourism, and attract investments in innovative medical technologies.
Milton, on the other hand, emphasized Ireland's commitment to strengthening partnerships with the UAE. She praised Ajman's diverse opportunities, particularly in education, healthcare and agriculture. Ireland also expressed interest in participating in the next edition of AETEX.
The meeting concluded with recommendations to organize joint forums to share expertise and best practices in small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Attendees highlighted opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, real estate, construction, information technology, and the food and beverage industries. They also stressed the importance of sharing information and statistics to support development efforts.
