The New Way to Get to New Zealand on Miles: Using United Airlines Miles for Award Travel to Australia and New Zealand
A lot of travelers might have already heard the news that booking a flight to Australia or New Zealand on miles is as tough as getting an award. Starting from July 1, 2016, using their 787 Dreamliner (787-8 until 10/28/16, then the 787-9), United Airlines will travel three times a week. The flight is set to depart from San Francisco at 10:45 PM. Then, will arrive in Auckland at 6:55 AM two days later. The return flight leaves Auckland at 1:20 PM and arrives in San Francisco at 6:40 AM earlier that day.
The airlines, however, will charge 70,000 miles per trail for that flight in business class and 40,000 miles each way for the economy class. Although it's premature to look at the award availability, the United America's award availability in Australia is purportedly better than some other carriers.
Moreover, with regards to the new flight to Auckland, United Airlines will also start off its service from San Francisco to Tel Aviv employing a 787-9, which will begin on March 30, 2016. Meanwhile, The Tel Aviv flights will debut its availability for booking flights on October 10, 2015. Auckland flights are also on hand for booking on October 17, 2015. But for a clearer view of the flight availability, numerous travelers try to search on the official website of the airlines for more details.
Even though it's still early to conclude at the award availability of the flights in United Airlines, a lot of travelers seemingly guess that in time the availability of both economy and business class award seats will soon be possible.
