Honda to unveil the new concept of mini cars: Honda Wanders

Honda has built a new concept vehicle that is compact enough to navigate through the crowds and come with high-tech controls. The micro-vehicle, Honda Wanders, will be unveiled in the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 starting next week.

The Honda Wanders series includes The Wander Stand and The Wander Walker.

The Honda Wanders were designed to pursue the joy and freedom of mobility. The Wander Stand concept embrace the idea that people should "wander around freely" while The Wander Walker concept was "designed to freely maneuver among pedestrians."

The Wander Stand is the bigger car of two Wander series. It offers seating for two, including seat belt. The micro car has a roof and two sets of wheels.  As noted on Designboom, the front wheels can be rotated to extreme angles which give the vehicle an excellent maneuver.

The Wander Stand has minimalistic controls and an augmented reality system that provide information onto the dashboard and windscreen.

The windscreen also works as a full-width head up display. The display shows navigation map along with 'message' and 'phone' icon, shows that this vehicle is able to be paired with smartphones. As reported on Psfk, the windscreen also displays speed and distance for a destination.

As the micro-car is expected to wander through the crowded street, the screen can help the driver to avoid the danger easily.

As noted on Mashable, the steering controls of the Wander Stand provide by the center-mounted joystick. This center-mounted control allows the driver to sit on any side of the vehicle. The Wander Stand is electrically powered.

On the other hand, the Wander Walker designed like a high-tech scooter.  But unlike scooters, the Wanders are fitted with four wheels. The wheels feature a honeycomb structure with a thin outer layer of rubber-like material.

The design is suitable for cemented roads. The wheels also can do a perfect 90 degrees to offer higher ability to slide into extremely tiny parking spaces.

Designed for only one person, the Wander Walker has leather wrapped handles, wood trim and small display with an infotainment system.

Like the Wander Stand, the Wander Walker also has navigation information with 3D rendering. It is also able to be synchronized with smartphones.  The dashboard is also featured with 'SOS' button on the center stalk.

The Wander Walker design is fitted with grab-handles and center stalk. This components are  used for accelerate and decelerate the vehicle by pulling the handles toward the driver and pushing them away. Like Wander Stand, this vehicle is likely electrically powered as well.
