The Travel guide book publisher giant, Lonely Planet unveiled their top three best travel destinations for the year 2016 in different categories, by countries, regions and cities. The Billionaire-owned travel company is the most awaited travel book every year and has been giving best travel recommendation through their annual survey.

According to CNN, Lonely Planet has rounded up the best travel destination this 2016. The travel giant's editorial director, Tom Hall said, "highlights not the places travelers are headed to next year, but the places our team determined they should visit." Lonely Planet named the best travel destination in country category, in top three spots, the country of Botswana on the first spot, followed by Japan and USA.

While on the top three best travel destinations in region category, the region of Transylvania, in Romania stole the first place followed by the West Iceland and Valle de Vinales in Cuba. The top three on the city category on the list, the city of Kotor in Montenegro won the first place followed by Transylvania in Romania and Dublin in Ireland, according to the Traveller.

Lonely Planet's editorial director, Tom Hall talks about Botswana, their best recommended travel destination for the upcoming new year. In country category, Halls said, "Botswana has remained off the radar for most people, who believe it's too expensive, too difficult to get to, or doesn't cater to families, but there are many options for all kinds of travelers".

For the top notched city, Kotor, Hall said the Kotor city has dramatic landscapes, historic city walls, and much loved, stunning sapphire bay and it deserves to be recognized. While the on the crowned first place in region category, the editorial director said the region of Transylvania is experiencing a renaissance, with cutting-edge art scenes, emerging nightlife, excellent skiing, and rich wildlife watching, Yahoo Travel reported.

Other highly recommended travel destinations for 2016 on the top 10 lists in country category, Palau, Latvia, Australia, Poland, Uruguay, Greenland and Fiji. The region category, Friuli's wine regions in Italy, Waiheke Island in New Zealand, The Auvergne in France, Hawaii, Bavaria in Germany, Costa Verde in Brazil and St. Helena in British Territories. While on the cities category, George Town in Malaysia, Rotterdam in Netherlands, Mumbai in India, Fremantle in Australia, Manchester in UK, Nashville in and Tennessee, Rome.
