Dinosaur Gardens Prehistoric Zoo in Ossineke, Michigan

Paul Domke, the creator of the Dinosaur Garden was inspired to make statues of dinosaurs in his garden as he imagines Jesus as the engine of the biological evolution. And these days, it is even gaining a lot of praises from tourists for its unique combination of dinosaurs, cavemen, and Christianity.

According to Atlas Obscura, the creator of the zoo, Paul Domke was an ex-Navy/ex-farmer/jack-of-all-trades had started his project when he moved to Michigan with his wife to find a new beginning. And as they settled down near the shores of Lake Huron, they bought a piece of swampland, they were supported by the income from their cottages and gas station. That was the time when Domke realized that he has to work on his passion, which was building dinosaur statues.

The ex-Navy worked on his project for three decades and built 25 exhibits that formed his Garden and Prehistoric Zoo.Domke's exhibits included individual dinosaurs and active scenes of survival-of-the-fittest carnage, as well as Ice Age scenes of early human hunters. Domke also developed a secret formula for the concrete mixture that he called as the cement plastics as he searched for more durable structures of the statues. His impressively durable statues have even weathered the harsh Great Lakes winters for over half a century.

And presently, the 40 acres gardens and zoo created by Domke alongside a trail lead visitors back in time when dinosaurs existed. Road Trippers even mentioned that the life-size replicas of a lot of dinosaurs and the cave men and women are also found in the prehistoric-themed zoo. The exhibits in the site also provide great views for the audience. Following the exhibit, the steps and entrance right into the replicas lead guests into the trails.

At the entrance of the zoo, a homemade statue of Christ holding the Earth aloft in one hand welcomes the guests. Numerous tourists pay a visit in the gift shop, which contains different kinds of dinosaur souvenirs. There are also prehistoric birds and reptiles arrayed in little clearings, as claimed by Road Side America. A big-headed Aptosaurus statue or the "Brontosaurus" can also be accessed as visitors enter a staircase. Inside its belly, surrounded by red and white Dinosaur guts decoration, they will find a heart-shaped Jesus and is labelled "The Greatest Heart."

From then and on, the management still continues to operate the Dinosaur Gardens Prehistoric Zoo. To date, many travelers are getting attracted to how the dinosaur structures were made and how the creator made the original mixture of Christianity, prehistoric times, and cavemen in the gardens and zoo.
