Amazon Is Assuring Complete Security With Two-Factor Authentication System: Safe Online Experience Is A Must

Just when people are gearing up to enjoy the festive holiday season, Amazon presented an exceptional gift for their users. The company has introduced a two-step authentication for account holders to provide utmost security.

Amazon is not making the two-factor authentication mandatory for all. However, this system will be useful for those who do not wish to share their personal information. The online transaction seems more secure as the transaction data will not be disclosed.

Amazon is actually knowingly keeping both the doors open leaving the decision up to the users. Two-step authentication system is a process that induces the users to provide something more besides their login id and password for account accessibility.

As per the Wired reports, a number password is sent by the Amazon which is entered in the blank space to log in. Even the randomly generated code by various authentication apps such as Google Authenticator or Authy can be used. Such secured passwords can ensure a safe login as no one can guess and enter any password and even if they get to know, your phone will be required to access the account.

According to security experts, relying completely on passwords to make your online experience safe and secure is not a good idea anymore. To add the extra layer of security, verifying your identity and it is actually you who is using the account is necessary.

The best solution to protect your valuable info is to use Amazon's two-factor authentication system. Earlier Amazon was not equipped with any additional supportive feature for this. So, some people were facing issues to use this system then.

Later on, Amazon launched new options to support this exclusive security feature.

As the reporter of Engadget cited, once you enable the security feature it is essential to go through the instruction or search for "Advanced Security Settings" from the account settings page. When you want to log in, you must have the password and also the phone in order to receive the code from the authenticated apps like Google Authenticator via message. So if anyone knows your password, you need not worry as they must have access to your phone too, to log in to your account.

Multifactor authentication or MFA is the new buzz in the world of web. With this system, users require going through several security checks to access any information or data. In two-step authentication, the extra added layer of security is known as OTP or one-time-password.

According to reports of Explainthatstuff, while you wish to sign into your system or register on a website, a disposable password which changes with every login and valid just once a time, must be entered. Whenever you access your account or system a fresh password is generated each time, known as the one-time-password or OTP.

Just like you are concerned about your home security, you should be careful about your online usage style too. As you ensure complete safety by installing a home security system, make your online experience safe and secured with two-step authentication system.

The more people are shifting to online lives, the merrier it becomes for hackers. To keep these cyber criminals at bay, two-step authentication is the only alternative of the combination lock. The code of the lock keeps changing time to time making the security tighter.
