Japanese Startup launched iOS App Connecting Fans, Players and Team of J. League Soccer

Japanese startup 7th heaven&Co. launched a new mobile app called Joooy, which can easily connect fans to their favorite J. League soccer teams.

According to Venture Beat, the Tokyo-based tech company's new app provides news from more than 3,000 media outlets that report on the Japanese League soccer teams. It also has chatrooms that can connect fans of the same team to each other. Finally, it has a friend request system that can easily connect fans with each other. The app is available on iOS and can be downloaded for free in the iTunes App Store.

"With the Premier League and other leagues that open at the same time as the J. League, the business scale and level of excitement that vastly exceeds the J. League is something that is often boasted about," said 7th heaven&Co. CEO Hiroki Tenjo in The Bridge. "We think that the cause of this is the weak relations between supporters and club teams. We've created a place where, based on the state of soccer in Japan, clubs and supporters can get connected and form closer bonds, and fans can openly express their feelings and thoughts about soccer. We've begun offering out 'lifestyle communication app' for fans with our future mission to build foundation of regional support through soccer."

On a different note, Japan Today reported that Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated Shonan Bellmare 5-0 Sunday, winning the second stage title in J. League's final game of the regular season. Hisato Sato scored his 157th goal, which means he matched the record score of former Japan striker Masashi Nakayama.

Fans gather in diners and bars after the games to conjugate and discuss their favorite teams. This is something they couldn't easily translate online since people are on various platforms. 7th heaven&Co. aims to make Joooy the de facto presence that will bring together the fans, the team managers, and the players together in one online venue. There will be players joining the app as the startup company is collaborating with soccer clubs in the J League.
