New York Governor’s Praiseworthy Effort to Stop Terrorism through ‘See Something, Send Something’ App

In order to strengthen New York's ability to fight with ever-rising terrorism, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has taken strong measures. He has announced two exceptional efforts including latest terrorism preventing 'See Something, Send Something' app to help and put an end to terrorism.

As per Washington Times reports, "The crime-solving, tip-sharing process is evolving and so are the New York State Police,"Joseph A. D'Amico, Superintendent of New York State Police commented.

The first effort is to boost the 'See Something, Send Something' app campaign. New Yorkers will be allowed to report suspicious activities anytime anywhere through a simple application from their smartphones. Apart from that, to improve counterterrorism skills, Metropolitan Transportation Authority will appoint additional 46 police officers.

These additional hired police officers will take care of Penn station, Grand Central Terminal, Staten Island Railway Systems, Long Island Rail Road and throughout the Metro-North Rail Road. Gov. Cuomo thinks that these new efforts will prove to be beneficial to fight against terrorism in near future.

According to Governor News, Gov. Cuomo stated, "We have stepped up our preparedness in the aftermath of the Paris attacks, and we continue to remain vigilant against those who seek to spread fear and violence. Despite the tremendous pain and loss that terrorist attacks around the world have caused the people of this state, the family of New York stands stronger than ever before."

The terrorism-fighting app will be available for both android and iOs users along with free download facility. New Yorkers whoever possess the 'See Something, Send Something' app, will be able to send text or picture message of any doubtful activity they are observing lately.

The message will be sent to New York State Intelligence Center. The responsible authority will evaluate the report asap and will call for further law enforcement if it seems a major threat. The app is not a substitute of 911 systems, but it can help prevent the fatal terror attacks happening all over the world.

The Pix 11 News report, "This app works just like a traditional telephone crime tip line or hotline, except it is available with the touch of a finger on a handheld device," Superintendent Joseph D'Amico, state police explained.

Your information might help prevent a tragedy and save millions of souls. However, during the press release, authorities requested people only to post suspicious behaviors or situations. Reports based on beliefs, ideas, expressions, thoughts, speech or associations not related to criminal or terrorist activities will not be accepted.

The government officials are trying to promote the entire campaign through public service announcements. In order to generate mass appeal, the promotional campaign for using 'See Something, Send Something' app will be played in service areas, DMV offices and state highways. With the usage of this app, people will become more careful and cautious.
