Xiaomi Introduces Latest Redmi Note 3 With Fingerprint Scanner Technology: More Surprises Unveiled
As promised a couple of days earlier, Xiaomi launched its latest Redmi Note 3 model with fingerprint scanner feature. The inauguration ceremony was held at China National Convention Center in Beijing. Redmi Note 3 is a complete metal version of the Redmi Note 2.
According to Tech2 news, Redmi Note 3 was rumored to be called as Redmi Note 2 Pro during the early stage. The USP of the newly launched smartphone is full metal chassis and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Just before the launch, Xiaomi also posted an official teaser of Redmi Note 3 on Weibo to create immense hype among the gadget lovers.
Xiaomi is already popular in the market for offering affordable smartphones with exceptional features. The company expects the third generation of Redmi Note to be a smashing hit with a fully laminated display, fingerprint sensor, and all-metallic look. However, initially, the 5.5" phablet will be available only in the China market.
For the first time ever, Xiaomi has increased the battery capacity of the latest device to a powerful 4000mAh. As per Tech Crunch, Redmi Note 3 is powered by an Helio X10 chip from MediaTek. The chip with 8.65 mm thickness and 164g weight is slightly heavier than the one used in Redmi Note 2. The camera features are similar as its predecessors.
The sensor of fingerprint scanner will help Redmi Note 3 users to unlock their phones without using passcodes within 0.3 seconds. According to Gadgets NDTV news, Redmi Note 3 will be available in two storage variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and another one featured with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage. Champagne gold, silver and dark gray colors will be available in this model.
The launch of Redmi Note 3 with the fingerprint scanner was just a starter. Xiaomi also revealed Mi Pad 2, the second generation Xiaomi tablet. Mi Pad 2 is also sporting all-metallic body with thinner and lighter features compared to the previous model. It will be available in Champagne gold color too just like Redmi Note 3.
Xiaomi was not done with their surprises, it seemed. They also announced that they are expanding the base of Mi Wallet, their exclusive mobile payment service. Xiaomi's entry to mobile payment service is quite significant keeping their growing popularity in mind.
On a different note, just before the launch, the plan of Apple launching Apple Pay in China got leaked. Is it just a sheer Coincidence? Who knows!
Last but not the least; Xiaomi unveiled their second generation smart air purifier in smaller and lighter variation.
