Ford Recalls almost 452,000 medium size cars over possible fuel leak

Ford recalls almost 452,000 medium size cars that the gasoline tanks possible can leak fuel. Because it may be a purge valve that may be malfunction and reason a split in the fuel tank, which could inevitably prompt a fire.

The recall process covers all vehicles within 2010 to 2011. Vehicles incuded are Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles, which are manufactured in Mexico from July 21, 2008, through March 4, 2011. The company does not know about any accidents, injuries or fires identified with the deformity, according to Ford on Monday.

Ford says a valve on a petrol vapour recovery canister can be stuck, creating air pressure changes in the gas tank. That can, in the end, because a split on top of the tank and a possible fuel leak. It is true if there is a fuel leak, there is more possibility of fire, but the part can be replaced free, according to US News.

Previously on October, Ford recalled almost 59,000 older Windsor minivans in Canada on a part of wider safety notice. Ford also issued four recalls and a safety compliance recall for another 342,000 vehicles.

Corrosion and stress can lead to cracks that could grow and result in a complete fracture, Ford said. The company said that when passing a large truck, the radar could incorrectly determine that it is in the F-150's travel lane when it is not.

Later, dealers will redesign the powertrain control programming and supplant the canister purge valve, and if important, dealers will replace the tank. Ford and Mercury dealers will upgrade programming and assess the fuel tanks of damaged vehicles free of cost. There are about 411,205 affected vehicles in the United States, 33,605 in Canada and 7,055 in Mexico, according to USA Today.

Ford is issuing a safety recall for 13 2016 F-650 vehicles for an issue with the steering section. These vehicles were assembled with a steering portion that uses the "pack" position part in the automatic transmission. In these vehicles, the park portion could break if the vehicle is on a loaded and the shift lever is in a park, possibly bringing about vehicle movement.

The company says there is no sign of fires or injuries from the problem. Ford always delivers quality and safety. For that reason, Ford starts this recall process for those vehicles, which is affected fuel leak possibility. Ford dealers have an update for the powertrain control module software and will have technicians inspect canister purge valves and fuel tanks for any leaks.
