The Polaris Slingshot Is A Thrilling Three-wheeled Roller-Coaster Track Ride

Polaris Slingshot is unlike any other traditional motorcycles with one rear wheel and two wheels up in the front. Polaris is eminent for manufacturing a varied range of power sports equipment. Now, the power sports giant is hitting the automobile market with the new three-wheeled Slingshot two-seater hot ride.

According to the CNN Money News, the Polaris three-wheeler slingshot provides a fair weather comfort of a convertible four-wheeler sports car with an excitement of two-wheeled motorbikes. Driving never seemed so much fun before. Slingshot is actually an epitome of adventure ride.

Even if Slingshot is a hybrid vehicle, it is considered to be motorcycles in most of the places. Therefore, a helmet will be required during driving. However, as the power three-wheeler is not actually a car, strict crash safety requirements of cars are not necessary. This is the prime reason behind Slingshot's sleek, open and sexy design.

The Slingshot looks like an exotic car but, it is actually a motorbike in the guise of a car. While the distinction is significant for Polaris, U.S transportation department is concerned about it too. As Slingshot is being classified as a motorcycle, it is definitely not equipped with car safety equipment like a collapsing steering column, bumpers, airbags, crash protection and others.

According to Motorcycle Daily reports, this beast comes with 5-speed self-handled transmissions, steering with rack and pinion with instant 3.2 turns lock ratio and promises to deliver a great amount of fun while performing behind the wheels.

Slingshot is powered by 2.4-liter EcoTecfour cylinder GM engine and 173-hp. That is quite a heavy power for such lightweight vehicle (1,725-lb. curb weight) besides, it owns 5-speed manual transmission. In order to avoid innate stability concerns of three-wheelers, Slingshot has been equipped with electronic stability control comprised of electric steering, traction and stability control.

As per New York Times report, the 3-wheeled Slingshot built by Polaris comes up in two levels. The base model includes nothing more than an engine, three-wheels, and a 5-speed manual transmission while the SL gets a media package, a backup camera, larger wheels and a fire red paint job.

With a base price of $19,999, Slingshot will surely catch the attention of budget adventure-seekers. The only basic things one requires to ride the Slingshot are motorcycle license, helmet, and that much budget to buy it.

In the past few years, the world has already learned about the combination of sports-car stability and open-air motorbike thrill can be possible to get into just a single vehicle. This idea was established during the launch of the Can-Am Spyde, Morgan Three-Wheeler, and Campagna T-Rex.

Now, with the introduction Polaris Slingshot three-wheeler into the market, everything will change. Slingshot just looks like the devil's chariot that goes like a bat-out-of-hell.
